2019 Holy Hikers
Mt. Rainier Monday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25
Trip plan is to either backpack or bikepack (see 1, 2), your choice, into the Ipsut Creek Campground using the Carbon River Trail. We have a camp permit for Ipsut for the three nights of the trip, at a group site with a capacity for 12 people. How many nights you stay is up to you. The five mile hike in, on an unused roadway, is classified as "easy" by alltrails.com. Our two full days at Rainier can be used as desired for day hikes, fishing or other activities, including if wanted, the 15 mile Ipsut Creek Loop trail linked below (photos). Mosquitoes can be a problem, so plan on using repellent and maybe netting. See the links below for additional information, such as trail head parking, water availability and hike elevations (Ipsut at 2,500 ft.). Our prayer group obtained the campsite permit, but participants must be responsible for planning the other aspects of their trip. Carpooling together can be arranged. National Park vehicle fee is $30. Be aware of your own physical limitations and participate at your own risk. We'll have a two way satellite text messaging device with us to assure communication with the outside world if needed.
